Ueva Madaleina Kershaw

Female, CreeID#6818, (9 April 1908 - c August 1980)
ChartsLine 10b. The Perth maltmen line
Ueva Madaleina Kershaw was born on 9 April 1908. Searching for a record of her birth, I found a Magdalen Kershaw born Sept quarter 1901 at Chorley, Lancs. This seems rather early but is not impossible. Also a Madeline Kershaw was born in Rochdale in June quarter 1923. She seems a more likely candidate, although this is much later then the birth date recorded at her death.1

In 1941, Ueva Madaleina Kershaw was also known as Ueva Madaleina Cree. "I think that when she fell pregnant with my father, to save herself the shame of being a single parent she took his father's surname of Cree."2

Ueva Madaleina Kershaw died c August 1980 in Blackpool Reg Dist, Lancashire, England.3

Faye Cree died on 20 April 2009. "Tributes have been paid to a 17-year-old girl who died after being thrown from her horse in front of her horrified mother. Faye Cree had taken off her riding helmet and was leading her horse, Finlay, into his stable when she made a last-minute decision to ride him around the yard. The horse bucked, throwing her head first into a wall. Her mother, Kate Cree, who was in the stable yard near their home in the village of Hose in the Vale of Belvoir, Leics, ran to her daughter's aid and cradled her in her arms."1
