Daphne writes that Ann was usually living on her own, but on the census night, her daughter Mary Barnes aged 24, was also there with her granddaughter Florence aged 6 months.The census records noted that Ann was ‘supported by her children’ in the space for profession or occupation.1

On 31 March 1901 Ann Cree was living in Walesby, Nottinghamshire. She was described as living on her own means. She was by then 77 and on her own.1

Her son Joseph Cree died c November 1904 in Basford Reg Dist, Nottinghamshire, England.

Ann Cree died on 14 January 1911 in Walesby, Nottinghamshire. She was described as ‘widow of Thomas White, Miller (journeyman.)’ The casue of death was given as liver cancer. Her son-in-law, F Laughton, (Frank) registered the death. He too, lived in Walesby.1
She was buried in the parish churchyard, Walesby, Nottinghamshire, England. Her gravestone reads:
‘In affectionate remembrance of Ann White. Born October 31st 1826. Died January 14th 1911.’.8
